VILLAS IN JAMAICA:

Highland House, Montego Bay in Jamaica has to be one of the most talked about holiday villas in the whole of the Caribbean. Highland haouse has recently been the subject of two articles in well known publications. One such publication was none other than the New York Times. Island Home Magazine has also featured this wonderful home in their magazine.

Highland House? I don't suppose it rings a bell with some people and others it will seem like an alarm clock. Highland House was once the home of Oscar Hammerstein II and his second wife, Dorothy.

It was at Highland house in Jamaica that Oscar Hammerstein wrote the Sound of Music, along with many other great songs and musicals whilst his wife Dorothy entertained the rich and famous such as Noël Coward, Richard Burton, Sean Connery and David Nivven to name just a few.

Highland House has a new owner, Brenda Isaacs and Brenda has taken the time and effort to restore this beautiful and historical Jamaican house, retaining something of Oscar and Dorothy Hammerstein feel but updating the property with new age touches, such as a wonderful Zen bedroom and a Saphire coloured Bhudda that watches over you whilst you swim or sunbathe.
